Founded in 2022

PowerCo was founded in 2022 to become a global battery champion. Based in Germany, we are currently ramping up gigafactories in Salzgitter, Valencia and St. Thomas in Canada with a total volume of up to 200 GWh. We are integrating the entire value chain and building a supply chain as local as possible. With that we are driving the development of a strong, sustainable battery industry in Europe and North America.

Chief Executive Officer

Frank Blome

Frank Blome oversees PowerCo's entire operation as Chief Executive Officer. He joined Volkswagen AG in 2018 and has been Head of the Battery division in the Group's Technology division since 2020.

Chief Human Resources Officer

Sebastian Krapoth

Sebastian Krapoth serves as Chief Human Resources Officer of PowerCo. He is responsible for a.o. human resources, culture & change management and organizational issues. He joined Volkswagen AG in 1999.

Chief Financial Officer

Kai Alexander Müller

As Chief Financial Officer, Kai Alexander Müller is responsible for a.o. Controlling & Accounting, Treasury, and Investor Relations. He joined the Volkswagen AG at the beginning of 2022.

Chief Procurement Officer

Jörg Teichmann

As Chief Procurement Officer, Jörg Teichmann overseas a.o. raw material procurement, supplier management and value engineering. He joined Volkswagen AG in 2016 as Head of Value Engineering and has been the Chief Procurement Officer for Group Components since 2021.

Chief Technology Officer

HW Vassen

As Chief Technology Officer, HW Vassen is responsible for Research & Development at PowerCo. He joined the Volkswagen Group in 1999 and has been Head of Series Development at PowerCo SE since mid-2023, before he was appointed CTO in 2024.

Chief Operating Officer

Sebastian Wolf

As Chief Operations Officer, Sebastian Wolf is responsible for the planning, construction and operation of the planned cell factories in Europe, among other things. This work includes logistics, equipment and recycling. He joined Volkswagen AG in 2021.
