"Our commitment to the creation of local employment is firm and our objective is to increasingly count on the talent of the region so that the start-up of the gigafactory allows the generation of wealth, knowledge and quality employment, especially among the youngest". However, the company also has a clear international focus "we are looking for the best talent, wherever it comes from", Dittrich acknowledged after pointing out that at the moment PowerCo Spain has workers of 14 different nationalities. "Colleagues from Germany, Italy, Portugal, Poland, or more distant places such as Mexico, the Philippines or Brazil have joined this exciting project."
By age, PowerCo has pointed out that the average age of the workforce is 39 years old, with the youngest person in the workforce being a young woman from Sagunto who is just 24 years old, while the oldest person is 65 years old.
Throughout the year, PowerCo has focused its efforts on consolidating "a multidisciplinary, diverse and highly committed team". As an example, currently 40% of the total workforce are women and, in addition, they represent 45% of positions of responsibility "which demonstrates our clear commitment to diversity and inclusion", as Alexander Dittrich pointed out.
In terms of professional profiles, most of the workers who have joined in this first phase of the project have higher degrees, including engineers with 60 professionals, while the rest of the technical profiles are made up of lawyers, economists, journalists, as well as experts in labour relations or business administration and management, among others.
"The PowerCo team is dominated by a diversity of age, origin and professional profiles, but if there is one thing that unites them, it is the commitment to lead the transformation of the automotive industry towards electromobility. We are very proud of the team we are building," concluded the head of Human Resources.
